Accessibility
We want every infographic on InfoGraphHub to be usable whether you see it, hear it read aloud, zoom it or use a keyboard. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement was last reviewed on 8 October 2026.
What we do
- Every infographic has written alt text and a full text explanation on its page, so nothing is only in the picture.
- Interactive diagrams work with a mouse, touch and the keyboard (Tab to the controls, the left and right arrow keys to move between steps), and announce each step to screen readers when you move to it.
- Animation never starts by itself if your device asks for reduced motion; the diagrams then show their finished state and you step through them yourself. Nothing on the site flashes.
- Without JavaScript, every interactive diagram shows the whole picture and every step written out.
- Text and controls are checked for colour contrast, and the layout works from 360 px wide without sideways scrolling.
- Videos are muted, never play sound by themselves, and have controls.
How we test
We test pages with automated checks (Lighthouse and axe rules through it), keyboard-only use and browser zoom, at phone, tablet and desktop widths, before publishing. We have not had an independent accessibility audit yet.
Known limitations
- The downloadable PNG files are pictures: a screen reader cannot read the text inside them. Use the explanation on the page, which contains the same information.
- The printable PDFs have not yet been checked as tagged, screen-reader-friendly documents.
- Older explainer videos have no audio description; their content is covered by the text on the same page.
